With the new name Microsoft Purview, the products for compliance and governance are given a new name. Microsoft is thus making it clear how closely these topics are interlinked and at the same time underscoring the clarity and urgency of addressing them: The future of compliance and data governance is here: Introducing Microsoft Purview – Microsoft Security Blog.
Microsoft Purview is the solution set to help cloud customers manage and protect their cloud-based data. For this purpose, Microsoft has combined the functions of Azure Purview and the familiar compliance tools from Microsoft 365. The portfolio is rounded off with the other tools from Microsoft (for example, identity and access management, cloud security, endpoint management and others).
To create the Purview package, Microsoft has regrouped existing partial licenses and products. We have compiled the new grouping in this overview:
